The SUT Commencement: Memorable and Magnificent

     I would like to write about the commencement ceremony which took place last week or on the 25th of March 2025. This event was considered truly meaningful for everyone involved. Commencement ceremonies in Thai universities are usually presided over by a member of the royal family. This year was as usual, Princess Sirindhorn or the King’s younger sister flew from Bangkok to Nakhon Ratchasima to bestow diplomas upon 2,588 graduates of Suranaree University of Technology. It usually takes about six months to prepare everything for this memorable time. This mega ceremony was orchestrated mainly by the university administrators, and it involved many sectors both the public and the private, including the military, law enforcement officers, and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation. The governor, military commander, police commander, chief judge, religious personnel, and local administrators also joined in organizing this wonderful ritual to celebrate the accomplishment of the graduates. The alumni association and current students played important roles.

     Apart from receiving their diploma from the Princess, this joyous occasion was a chance for the graduates to reunite with friends, professors, and significant others on campus. Many of them have just started working and entering a career path, so they took a break from work to return to their alma mater and mingle together again. The current students who study in the same majors as the graduate show salutations and felicitations by organizing a welcome party and offering presents, gifts, and souvenirs. The gifts could be in many forms such as dolls, cash garlands, a bouquet of flowers, etc. In my opinion, they really deserved rewards because most graduates came from grassroots or middle-class families. They beat the odd overcoming obstacles and went on to earn a college degree. They were certainly admirable. Although the majority were from the Northeast, still a lot of them came from hometowns around the country. They wore proper regalia and had their best make-up and hairstyles. Those who could afford hired personal photographers to follow them so that every unforgettable moment could be captured on camera.

     The atmosphere was jubilant and festive. It’s like a festival of joy where everyone smiled and laughed as they witnessed their young ones obtaining the degree. This was certainly a family day. A parent would feel very satisfied to see a picture of a grown child receiving a degree from a revered person. The plaza area where the commencement took place was bustling. The large parking lot was full, accommodating thousands of vehicles. Hundreds of food stalls were ready for customers. All the foods and drinks looked mouth-watering. The landscapes were picturesque, decorated with blooming flowers and greenish shrubberies. A lot of current students dressed in formal college uniform stood in circles around the graduates to shout out praising messages, mottos and march. Overall, it was a truly great sight to see. The commencement ceremony was well planned and executed. The graduates were honored. Their relatives and friends were delighted, and the atmosphere was indeed inspiring.

พิธีพระราชทานปริญญาบัตรแห่งมหาวิทยาลัยเทคโนโลยีสุรนารี "ความทรงจำที่งดงามและยิ่งใหญ่"

     พิธีพระราชทานปริญญาบัตรของมหาวิทยาลัยเทคโนโลยีสุรนารี (มทส.) ซึ่งจัดขึ้นเมื่อวันที่ 25 มีนาคม 2568 ถือเป็นอีกหนึ่งเหตุการณ์สำคัญที่เปี่ยมด้วยความหมายและความทรงจำอันงดงามสำหรับทั้งบัณฑิต ครอบครัว คณาจารย์ และบุคลากรของมหาวิทยาลัย ตลอดจนทุกคนที่เกี่ยวข้องในพิธี และประชาคมในจังหวัดนครราชสีมา
     ในปีนี้ สมเด็จพระกนิษฐาธิราชเจ้า กรมสมเด็จพระเทพรัตนราชสุดาฯ สยามบรมราชกุมารี เสด็จพระราชดำเนินมาพระราชทานปริญญาบัตรแก่บัณฑิตจำนวน 2,588 คน ณ มหาวิทยาลัยเทคโนโลยีสุรนารี ท่ามกลางบรรยากาศแห่งความปลื้มปีติและความภาคภูมิใจของทุกครอบครัว
     พิธีอันยิ่งใหญ่นี้ต้องใช้เวลาวางแผนและเตรียมการเป็นระยะเวลาถึงหกเดือน โดยมีผู้บริหารของมหาวิทยาลัยเป็นกำลังหลักในการจัดงาน นอกจากนี้ยังได้รับความร่วมมือจากหลายภาคส่วนทั้งภาครัฐและเอกชน อาทิ กองทัพ ตำรวจ และกระทรวงการอุดมศึกษา วิทยาศาสตร์ วิจัย และนวัตกรรม โดยมีผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัด ผู้บัญชาการทหาร ผู้บัญชาการตำรวจ หัวหน้าฝ่ายตุลาการ ผู้นำศาสนา และผู้บริหารท้องถิ่น เข้าร่วมเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของการจัดพิธีครั้งสำคัญนี้ สมาคมศิษย์เก่าและนักศึกษาปัจจุบันก็มีบทบาทสำคัญในการร่วมสร้างบรรยากาศอันอบอุ่นและน่าประทับใจ

วันแห่งความสำเร็จของบัณฑิต
     พิธีพระราชทานปริญญาบัตรไม่ใช่เพียงวันแห่งเกียรติยศ แต่ยังเป็นโอกาสที่บัณฑิตได้ย้อนกลับมาเยือนรั้วมหาวิทยาลัย พบปะอาจารย์ เพื่อนเก่า และผู้มีพระคุณทางวิชาการ บัณฑิตจำนวนไม่น้อยเริ่มต้นชีวิตการทำงานแล้ว แต่ยังเลือกกลับมาฉลองความสำเร็จครั้งสำคัญร่วมกับคนที่รักนักศึกษาปัจจุบันให้การต้อนรับรุ่นพี่อย่างอบอุ่น จัดกิจกรรมแสดงความยินดีทั้งในรูปแบบการจัดเตรียมซุ้มรับพี่บัณฑิตอย่างยิ่งใหญ่ การจัดงานเลี้ยง การมอบของขวัญ และบรรยากาศสนุกสนานรอบมหาวิทยาลัย ไม่ว่าจะเป็นตุ๊กตา ช่อดอกไม้ หรือพวงมาลัยเงินสด ล้วนสะท้อนถึงวัฒนธรรมแห่งการให้และการยินดีที่สืบทอดกันมาอย่างงดงาม

วันแห่งความภาคภูมิใจ
     บัณฑิตจำนวนมากมาจากครอบครัวที่มีฐานะปานกลางหรืออยู่ในชนบทห่างไกล โดยเฉพาะจากภาคตะวันออกเฉียงเหนือ หลายคนต้องฝ่าฟันอุปสรรคหลากหลายเพื่อเดินทางมาถึงจุดนี้ ความสำเร็จของพวกเขาจึงไม่ใช่เพียงใบปริญญา แต่คือหลักฐานของความเพียรพยายาม ความอดทน และแรงสนับสนุนจากครอบครัวที่อยู่เบื้องหลัง ทุกคนแต่งกายในชุดครุยอย่างสง่างาม เตรียมตัวอย่างประณีต บางคนจ้างช่างภาพมืออาชีพมาบันทึกภาพตลอดทั้งวัน เพื่อเก็บรักษาความทรงจำในช่วงเวลาที่มีค่าเช่นนี้

วันแห่งความยินดี
     พื้นที่จัดงานรองรับผู้ร่วมพิธีนับหมื่นคน พร้อมการจัดการที่เป็นระบบ ทั้งการจราจร ที่จอดรถ และจุดบริการอาหารจากร้านค้าหลายร้อยร้าน บริเวณรอบมหาวิทยาลัยประดับประดาด้วยดอกไม้หลากสีสันและไม้พุ่มเขียวชอุ่ม สร้างทัศนียภาพที่งดงามเป็นพิเศษนักศึกษารุ่นน้องเดินเป็นกลุ่มร่วมแสดงความยินดีอย่างคึกคัก ส่งเสียงโห่ร้องคำอวยพรด้วยความชื่นชม เสียงบูมที่ทรงพลัง ส่งผลให้บรรยากาศโดยรวมคล้ายเทศกาลแห่งความสำเร็จ ที่ไม่เพียงเฉลิมฉลองการจบการศึกษา แต่ยังสะท้อนถึงพลังของการศึกษาในฐานะเครื่องมือสร้างโอกาสและความสำเร็จ

บทสรุปแห่งความภาคภูมิใจ และการสร้างแรงบันดาลใจ
     พิธีพระราชทานปริญญาบัตรของมหาวิทยาลัยเทคโนโลยีสุรนารีในปีนี้ ดำเนินงานอย่างเรียบร้อย สมเกียรติ สวยงามและน่าประทับใจ บัณฑิตได้รับเกียรติยศสูงสุดในชีวิตทางวิชาการ ครอบครัวได้ร่วมภาคภูมิใจในความสำเร็จ เป็นบัณฑิตที่น่าภาคภูมิใจของมหาวิทยาลัย และสังคมได้เห็นพลังของคนรุ่นใหม่ที่พร้อมจะก้าวสู่อนาคต เป็นพลังของประเทศ นี่คือวันแห่งความทรงจำที่งดงาม—ไม่เพียงสำหรับบัณฑิตเท่านั้น แต่สำหรับทุกคนที่เชื่อในพลังของการศึกษา และอนาคตที่รออยู่ข้างหน้า
