A Message to the Suranaree University of Technology Community

Subject: Handover of the Acting Rector's Duties

On the morning of November 15, 2025, Suranaree University of Technology (SUT) held the official handover ceremony for the transfer of duties from Associate Professor Dr. Pornsiri Jongkol, the former Acting Rector of SUT, to Associate Professor Dr. Sittichai Seang-athit, the new Acting Rector of SUT. Dr. Sittichai Seang-athit was approved by the SUT Council to assume the duties of the Rector, in accordance with relevant practices and regulations.

The University expresses its deepest gratitude to Associate Professor Dr. Pornsiri Jongkol for her full dedication and tireless service as Acting Rector since her appointment. Throughout her tenure, she performed her duties with responsibility, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to the University’s best interests. However, due to pressing personal obligations and a heavy load of academic and administrative responsibilities, she was unable to dedicate her full time to the Acting Rector position. Consequently, she submitted her letter of resignation, which the SUT Council has now formally approved.

Following the completion of the handover of the Acting Rector's duties, the University will issue appointment orders for the Acting Vice Rectors and Acting Assistant Rectors. This team will collaboratively ensure the seamless and continuous transition of administrative functions from the previous executive committee, allowing the University to carry out its various missions stably during the process of searching for a new Rector, in compliance with the Suranaree University of Technology Act B.E. 2533 (1990) and all related rules, regulations, and practices.

The management approach of the transition team will adhere to the resolutions and observations of the SUT Council. It will be firmly grounded in the principles of Good Governance, Self-Governance, transparency, accountability, and a readiness to actively listen to feedback and suggestions from staff, students, alumni, and all relevant stakeholders. This is to ensure that Suranaree University of Technology can pass through this critical juncture appropriately, securely, and for the maximum benefit of the organization.

Finally, during this crucial period of transition and laying the foundation for the University’s future, SUT must rely on the "Power of the Community" from all sectors. The University firmly believes that the cooperation, patience, goodwill, and spirit of unity among all of us will be the essential strength that allows SUT to emerge from this turning point securely. We invite all SUT members to unite once again—to move forward with a unified heart.

Let us collectively create an atmosphere of hope, cooperation, and mutual support so that our University remains "an institution of opportunity and quality" of which we are all proud. Through the solidarity and strength of the SUT Community, we will be able to lead the University to stand proudly in all circumstances and move toward a future that is stronger, more sustainable, and better than before.
