SUT ranked 3rd in University of Technology, joint 9th in Thailand's top universities in QS World University Rankings 2024
According to the QS World University Rankings 2024, Suranaree University of Technology (SUT) has achieved the joint 9th position among Thailand's top universities, ranking 3rd among universities of technology. In the global rankings, SUT is placed within the range of 1201-1400.

The Rector of SUT, Associate Professor Dr. Anan Tongra-ar, recently announced the results of the 2024 QS World University Rankings conducted by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), the UK's World University Rankings Bureau. This year, the survey included participation from 1,500 universities representing 104 countries, with 124 new universities joining the rankings. The review process encompassed a staggering 16.4 million research articles and 117.8 million citations. It is noteworthy that the top three universities in the world, according to the rankings, are Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), University of Cambridge, and University of Oxford.

In the 2024 rankings, Thailand is represented by a total of 10 universities. Among these, the top three universities in Thailand are Chulalongkorn University, Mahidol University, and Chiang Mai University. SUT, ranked within the range of 1201-1400, holds the joint 9th position among Thai universities and is the 3rd highest-ranking university of technology. Table 1 shows an overview of the leading Thai universities.

The ranking methodology for the world's top universities comprises nine key indicators: Academic reputation (30%), Employer reputation (15%), Faculty-student ratio (10%), Citations per paper (20%), International faculty ratio (5%), International student ratio (5%), International research network (5%), Employment outcomes (5%), and Sustainability (5%).

The SUT rector finally concluded, "The achievements of this ranking once again highlight the excellence of SUT. We take pride in our ability to maintain this position and align our efforts with the strategies of the QS World University Rankings to accurately reflect our scores. However, SUT remains committed to ongoing improvement and development, and will continue to explore avenues for enhancing our university."
