SUT Ranks No. 1 in Thailand! Institute of Engineering Secures 15 TABEE Accreditations,
Reaffirming Its Commitment to World-Class Education

Suranaree University of Technology (SUT) proudly announces a historic milestone for its Institute of Engineering, securing the No. 1 spot in Thailand for the highest number of Bachelor of Engineering programs accredited by the Thailand Accreditation Board for Engineering Education (TABEE) under the Council of Engineers. With a total of 15 accredited programs, SUT is fully equipped to deliver high-quality engineers recognized internationally under the Washington Accord.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sittichai Seangatith, Acting Rector of Suranaree University of Technology, stated regarding this achievement, "Securing the No. 1 position in the country with 15 TABEE-accredited programs is a clear testament to SUT's vision and mission as a leading university of technology and innovation. We place paramount importance on elevating our educational standards to meet global benchmarks. This success is not only a source of pride for the university but also a guarantee to society and the industrial sector that SUT engineering graduates are highly qualified professionals, ready to be a vital driving force for the economy and national development in this era of disruptive technology."

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pornsiri Jongkol, Dean of the Institute of Engineering at SUT, added, "This remarkable achievement is the result of the unwavering dedication of our executive team, department heads, and faculty members. In 2025 (effective Nov 1, 2025), we will successfully add 7 newly accredited programs to our portfolio. Combined with our 8 previously accredited programs, SUT now holds 15 TABEE-accredited programs."

The 15 TABEE-accredited programs include:

 • Previously Accredited Programs (8): Civil Engineering, Manufacturing Automation and Robotics Engineering, Polymer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Geological Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Telecommunication Engineering.

 • Newly Accredited Programs for 2025 (7): Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural and Food Engineering, Transportation and Logistics Engineering, Electronic and Embedded System Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, and Petroleum and Geotechnology Engineering.

A Fully Integrated OBE System Securing this No. 1 position was a rigorous journey requiring a steep learning curve. Every program was thoroughly transformed into a comprehensive Outcome-Based Education (OBE) framework compliant with the Council of Engineers' stringent standards. Key implementations included:
 • Industry Collaboration: Establishing Industrial Advisory Committees (IAC) to ensure curricula align with real-world industry demands.
 • Measurable Outcomes: Defining clear Program Educational Objectives (PEOs) that graduates must achieve within 3-5 years, alongside specific Student Outcomes (SOs/PLOs) translated into measurable Performance Indicators (PIs).
 • Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI): Integrating the PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) cycle into every course, alongside continuous development of faculty, staff, and learning facilities, backed by 3-5 years of evidence.
 • Capstone Design Projects: Mandating comprehensive final projects to rigorously assess and ensure every student fully meets all specified Student Outcomes before graduating as a professional engineer.

This success reinforces SUT's reputation as a leading institution in engineering education, dedicated to cultivating "Global Engineers" equipped with practical skills and global competitiveness.
