SUT Achieves Prestigious "5-Star" Rating in Healthy University Rating System (HURS) 2025;
Honored as ASEAN Reviewer Team Member

    Suranaree University of Technology (SUT) has achieved a significant milestone by securing a 5-Star Rating in the 2025 Healthy University Rating System (HURS). This accomplishment highlights SUT's international leadership in health promotion and has resulted in an official invitation to join the ASEAN-level reviewer team.

     According to the official evaluation report from the ASEAN University Network - Health Promotion Network (AUN-HPN) and Mahidol University, Suranaree University of Technology has been awarded a 5-star rating for the year 2025. SUT achieved a score within the 800 – 899 range out of a total of 1,000 points. This score places the university in the highest tier of the rating system, representing an outstanding institutional achievement.

    This success reflects SUT's continuous and rapid development, progressing from a 4-star rating in 2023 and a 3-star rating in 2024 to the maximum 5-star status this year. This upward trajectory is the result of a systematic and concrete implementation of the Healthy University Framework (HUF).

    The HURS 2025 evaluation assessed the university’s performance between August 16 and November 15, 2025. The review involved 46 self-assessment questions covering 22 specific areas under the Healthy University Framework (HUF). These areas are divided into three core dimensions:

1. System and Infrastructure (SI): Focused on health promotion policies and infrastructure (470 points).

2. Zero Tolerance Area (ZT): Focused on safety from vices and accidents, including alcohol, drugs, and road safety (270 points).

3. Health Promotion Area (HP): Focused on mental well-being, physical activity, and healthy diets (260 points).
The 2025 results underscore SUT’s unwavering commitment to elevating its health promotion standards systematically, moving from its previous 4-star and 3-star standings to the elite 5-star level.

In recognition of this excellence, the AUN-HPN Secretariat has invited representatives from SUT to join the HURS reviewer team. In this capacity, SUT will share its best practices and expertise with other member universities within the network. SUT remains dedicated to further developing its health policies and environment to enhance the quality of life and foster sustainable well-being for the SUT community and society at large.
