     วันที่ 23-26 กันยายน 2562 คณะผู้บริหารมหาวิทยาลัยเทคโนโลยีสุรนารี (มทส.)  นำโดย ศาสตราจารย์ ดร.สันติ แม้นศิริ รองอธิการบดีฝ่ายวิชาการและพัฒนาความเป็นสากล พร้อมด้วยผู้บริหาร คณบดีสำนักวิชาแพทยศาสตร์ ผู้อำนวยการโรงพยาบาล ผู้อำนวยการศูนย์แพทยศาสตร์ศึกษาชั้นคลินิก รพ.สุรินทร์ รพ.บุรีรัมย์ รพ.ชัยภูมิ และ รพ.มทส. และคณะ เข้าศึกษาดูงานด้าน Rural Community-based Medical Education ณ The University of Adelaide และ The University of Flinders ประเทศออสเตรเลีย เพื่อศึกษาดูงานด้านการเรียนการสอนระดับชั้นคลินิกของนักศึกษาแพทย์ ที่ใช้รูปแบบ Rural track คล้ายกับหลักสูตรที่ใช้ชุมชนเป็นฐาน (Community based study) ณ Adelaide Rural Clinical School (ARCS), University of Adelaide โดยมี Professor Dr. Lucie Walters ผู้อำนวยการ ARCS และคณะ ให้การต้อนรับอย่างอบอุ่น ทั้งนี้ ARCS เป็นโครงการที่ได้รับการสนับสนุนโดย Commonwealth Department of Health under the Rural Health Multidisciplinary Training (RHMT) Program ซึ่งมีวัตถุประสงค์ของหลักสูตรในการลดความเหลื่อมล้ำของระบบสุขภาพ โดยส่งเสริมสนับสนุนการรับนักศึกษาจากชุมชน และส่งเสริมการเรียนรู้ให้มีแพทย์ในชุมชนอย่างยั่งยืน โดยทีมผู้บริหารได้ร่วมเสวนาแลกเปลี่ยนระบบการเรียนการสอนของมหาวิทยาลัยและระบบสนับสนุนการเรียนรู้แบบ 21st  Century Education ของนักศึกษาโดยเน้นให้มีทักษะความรู้ โดยอาจารย์ผู้รับผิดชอบรายวิชา และการประชุมร่วมในแต่ละศูนย์ ผ่านระบบ Telemedicine โดยใช้เทคโนโลยี Canvas, Youtube และ Zoom video conference ร่วมกับการสร้าง e-learning ทุกรายวิชาในการเรียนรู้ร่วมกันระหว่างแต่ละศูนย์  อีกทั้งศึกษาดูงานที่โรงพยาบาล Adelaide Hospital ที่มีการเรียนการสอนร่วมกันในสหสาขาวิชาชีพทั้งแพทย์ ทันตแพทย์ พยาบาล และสาธารณสุข โดยใช้เทคโนโลยีการศึกษาผ่านระบบ Simulation Labs Center ร่วมกัน
    
 
 
 
     ต่อมาในช่วงบ่ายได้เข้าศึกษาดูงานที่ Flinders University, Bedford Park Campus และ College of Medicine and Public Health, Flinders Medical Centre (FMC) โดยมี Prof. Alison Jones, Dean of Education College of Medicine & Public Health และคณะให้การต้อนรับ มีการแลกเปลี่ยนระบบการเรียนการสอนของมหาวิทยาลัย โดยหลักสูตรคัดเลือกนักศึกษาที่จบปริญญาตรีโดยไม่จำกัดสาขาเพื่อมาเรียนต่อเป็นแพทย์  จัดการเรียนการสอน 4 ปี ร่วมกับรพ.แหล่งฝึกแต่ละแห่ง ระบบสนับสนุนการเรียนรู้ของนักศึกษาได้แก่ Medical Library, Clinical Skills/Simulation centre, ใช้ Multipurpose teaching facility เช่น Anatomage table รวมทั้งการประเมินผลการเรียนรู้ต่อเนื่องโดยใช้ progress test  ซึ่งดูแลโดย Prof. Lambert Schuwirth, Directoer-Research, Prideaux centre, Centre for research in Health Profession Education. 
 
 
 
 
     นอกจากนี้ทางคณะฯ ได้เข้าร่วมศึกษาดูงานที่รพ.แหล่งฝึกของ Flinders Rural Health SA – GGT Campus, Mount Gambier เพื่อสังเกตการเรียนการสอนชั้นคลินิกและการจัดการเรียนการสอนแบบ Problem-Based Learning (PBL) ของนักศึกษาแพทย์ชั้นปีที่ 3 โดย Dr. Pradeep Vijayanand, Clinical Educator – PRCC Program   เป็นวิทยากร และเข้าศึกษาดูงาน Simulation Lab, Simulation Skills โดย Peter Burns IPE Educator เป็นวิทยากร และในช่วงท้ายของการกิจกรรมทางคณะฯได้เข้าเยี่ยมชมโรงพยาบาลร่วมผลิตที่ MGDHS และ Hawkins Clinic โดย Peter Burns และ Dale Beatty, Hawkins Clinic Practice Manager เป็นโรงพยาบาลที่มีเครื่องมือที่ทันสมัยสามารถรองรับผู้ป่วยประมาณ 26,000 คนต่อปี

The SUT administrative team visited University of Adelaide and Flinders University, Australia between 23rd and 26th September 2019.
 
      The administrative team from Suranaree University of Technology led by Professor Dr. Santi Meansiri, Vice rector in Academic Affairs and Internationalisation, Dean of Institute of Medicine, Director of Suranaree University of Technology, Surin, Burirum, and Chaiyaphum Hospitals, Director of Medical Education Center as well as academic staff visited the Rural Community-Based Medical Education at University of Adelaide and Flinders University, Australia between 23rd and 26th September 2019.
 
      The team visited the Adelaide Rural Clinical School (ARCS), University of Adelaide with a warm welcome from Professor Dr. Lucie Walters and staff. The ARCS is supported by the Commonwealth Department of Health under the Rural Health Multidisciplinary Training (RHMT) Programme. The aim of the national programme is to address the maldistribution of the rural health workforce by encouraging the recruitment and retention of rural and remote health professionals. The group discussed and exchanged supportive teaching and learning strategies in the 21st Century Education that focused on cognitive, teacher presence, and social meeting by telemedicine using such technologies as Canvas, Youtube and Zoom video conference. Students can study via e-learning in each subject for all centres. The committee also visited the Adelaide Hospital, high technological and modern hospital for all health sciences education and the Centralised sharing Simulation Center for teaching and learning.
 
    Later, the Vice Rector and SUT team visited Flinders University, Bedford Park Campus and College of Medicine and Public Health, and Flinders Medical Centre (FMC). Professor Alison Jones, Dean of Education College of Medicine and Public Health and staff shared their knowledge and experience on the academic system for rural medicine. Flinders University has the selective programme admission for postgraduate students to study with a 4-year-medical course. The study programme takes place in community hospitals with supportive teaching and learning environment such as medical library, Clinical Skills and Simulation Centre by using multipurpose teaching facilities, including the Anatomage table. Professor Lambert Schuwirth, Director-Research, Prideaux Centre, Centre for research in Health Profession Education gave advice and suggestions on progress-test for continuous evaluation of the student.
 
     Next day, the SUT team visited Flinders Rural Health SA – GGT Campus, Mount Gambier to observe a clinical instructor leading a Problem Based Learning (PBL) session with 3rd year medical students.  The PBL session was run by Dr. Pradeep Vijayanand, Clinical Educator – PRCC Program, while the Simulation Lab, Simulation Skills was illustrated by Peter Burns, IPE Educator and district hospital and Lecturer Rural Clinical Education. 
 
    Later on, the team was given a tour around the district hospital (MGDHS and Hawkins) at Mount Gambier by Peter Burns and Dale Beatty, Hawkins Clinic Practice Manager.
 
     The SUT team consisted of: Prof. Dr.Santi Maensiri, Prof. Dr.Sukij Panpimanmas, Assoc Prof. Dr.Nantana Sirisup, Dr. Niwatchai Namvichaisirikul, Dr. Prawin Tanthaprabha, Dr. Prasert Chaiviratana, Dr. Nawarat Chongchet, Dr. Jutathip Ruttijirawong, Dr. Chitsanupong Tangadulrat, Dr. Surasak Aumkaew, Dr. Nicharee Mungklang, Dr. Piya-On Numpaisal, Assist. Prof. Dr. Naporn Uengarporn, Assist. Prof. Porntip Nimkuntod.
