BJTU-SUT have agreed to collaborations

Accompanied by Prof. Zhao Haikuan, Director of Bureau of Railway Transportation, China Railway Corperation, Prof. Prasart Suebka visited Beijing Jiaotong University (BJTU) in the afternoon of Oct. 11, 2016. Prof. Liu Jun, Vice President of BJTU welcome and discussed with Prof. Prasart about possible collaboration between SUT and BJTU. Those who attended the meeting including Prof. Yupeng Yan, Director of International Affairs, SUT; Prof. Meng Lingyun, Vice Dean of School of Traffic and Transportation, BJTU; Wang Gang, Deputy Director, State Research Center of Rail Transit Training and Accreditation, BJTU.
Beijing Jiaotong University Beijing Jiaotong University (BJTU, formerly known as Northern Jiaotong University) is a national key university under the direct administration of the Ministry of Education and now is jointly supported by the Ministry of Education, the China Railway Corporation (formerly known as the Ministry of Railways) and Beijing Municipal Government.
BJTU was founded in 1896. Since then, it has committed to fostering railway management talents and initiated modern China’s education in railway management and telecommunication. BJTU has achieved distinction in offering a range of academic programs thanks to its development in over one hundred years. The university has been closely connected with the nation’s railway industry since its establishment. The faculty and students of BJTU have made great contributions to the growth of China’s railways, having participated in almost all the major events in different stages of development of the industry.
BJTU accommodates now 15 academic schools, 2 vocational colleges and 1 independent college. BJTU has about 2,000 faculty members, 40,000 students including about 10,000 graduate students. Prof. Liu Jun and Prof. Prasart Suebka have agreed to extend and strengthen collaborations between the two universities in the fields:
  1. Staff exchange and training;
  2. Joint degree programs
  3. Joint research programs
  4. Joint research and education organization in a long run
