Institute of Nursing

Background:

The Institute of Nursing (IN) is a department equivalent to a faculty under Suranaree University of Technology, which is an autonomous university of the state. Established on May 31, 2009, the goal is to respond to the problem of the country's nursing personnel shortage in Nakhon Ratchasima, Chaiyaphum, Buriram, and Surin aiming to produce nursing technologist graduates who can use technology, innovation, and information for health care.

 

The Institute of Nursing developed the Bachelor of Nursing Science curriculum since 2007, at which time it was still a field of nursing science. Under the administrative structure of Institute of Medicine, Bachelor of Nursing Science Program Nursing major (New curriculum 2009) approved by the Suranaree University of Technology Council. The Nursing and Midwifery Council first accredited the Institute of Nursing and Midwifery on 13 March 2009.

Outstanding student activities:

Exchange Student

  • Suranaree University of Technology engaged in an Online Student Exchange Activity, known as the Virtual Exchange Program, with the Japanese Red Cross Hiroshima College of Nursing, Japan.
  • Students and faculty members embarked on a journey to foster academic cooperation as outlined in the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) designed to enhance internationalization. Additionally, a cohort of students participated in a student exchange program at Akita University Graduate School of Health Sciences, Japan.
  • Recognition was bestowed upon a student for receiving an Excellent Award in acknowledgment of the development of a nursing model aimed at preventing deep vein thrombosis in critically ill patients. This accolade was received at the national academic conference titled "Clinical Rational Thinking in Nursing and the 2nd Nursing Innovation Contest" on March 31, 2023.
  • Another noteworthy achievement was the reception of an Excellent Concept Mapping Award by students who presented on the topic "Blunt Abdominal Injury with Hypovolemic Shock" during the same national academic conference, held on March 31, 2023, focusing on "Clinical Rational Thinking in Nursing and the 2nd Nursing Innovation Contest."
