Institute of Engineering (IE), Suranaree University of Technology (SUT): A Hub for Engineering Exploration

Background:

The mission of teaching and learning began immediately after the university completed the development of buildings and construction. The first students were admitted at the undergraduate level in May 1993 under the management of the Faculty of Industrial Technology and the Faculty of Resource Technology. Subsequently, the university established guidelines for the merger of the two faculties and agricultural engineering branches from the Faculty of Agricultural Technology. This resulted in the creation of the Faculty of Engineering on May 1, 1999, encompassing a total of 14 branches of study.

Currently, the Faculty of Engineering is one of eight faculties at Suranaree University of Technology. The dean is responsible for overseeing the production of graduates, including bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees in engineering. The faculty contributes approximately 65% of the total graduates produced by the university.

The Faculty of Engineering prioritizes quality assurance in education, and a quality assurance committee has been appointed to coordinate with the university-level quality assurance committee. This is to ensure that the quality assurance efforts of the Faculty of Engineering align with the overall university education quality policy.

Outstanding academic evaluation results
