Suranaree University of Technology (SUT) Achieves the Highest Past Performance Evaluation (Grade 5) from TSRI
Ranked among Thailand’s “Top Performance” institutions – A reflection of SUT’s effective and sustainable research management capacity

Suranaree University of Technology (SUT) has achieved outstanding results in the Past Performance evaluation under the allocation of the Fundamental Fund (FF) conducted by the Office of the Science, Research, and Innovation Promotion Commission (TSRI) for the fiscal year 2027. SUT received a total score of 90.66, attaining Grade 5—the highest rating—and was ranked among the “Top Performance” group nationwide.

This result demonstrates the university’s efficient research management system, its commitment to enhancing research quality, and its success in producing tangible outcomes that align with Thailand’s national strategy for science, research, and innovation development.

According to the evaluation report, SUT excelled in all aspects of research management and received high scores in nearly all indicators, particularly in the following areas:

·         Completion of research projects and progress reporting: 100 points

·         Submission of synthesis reports and delivery of FF project outcomes: 100 points

·         Utilization of research results for economic and social benefits: 80 points

As a result, the university’s overall average score exceeded that of public universities nationwide (86.41 points), placing SUT within the “Top Performance” category at the national level.

According to TSRI’s national Past Performance data, only a limited number of institutions scored above 90 points. This reflects that SUT is among the top-performing public universities in Thailand with exceptional research management capacity. The Past Performance (PP) evaluation criteria, developed by TRIS Corporation under TSRI’s framework, assess budget utilization efficiency, project implementation, research result delivery, research application, and qualitative research outcomes. A Grade 5 (score above 85 points) signifies the highest level of achievement, indicating excellence in institutional performance.
